The company has operations in North America, Europe and Asia (particularly in mainland China) ModusLink was formed as a result of a merger between CMGI and Modus Media in 2004. Modus Media was led by R. Scott Murray as its CEO and a member of the Board of Directors, who was also a significant shareholder of the company. Murray led the turn around and growth of the company while under the ownership of its main shareholder Bain Capital. Murray was responsible for revitalizing the growth of the company, increasing client market share, introducing new technology services and leading the build out of Modus Media's China operations.
